Responsibilities

【Research Theme】Estimating local anthropogenic emission from space for making effective emission-reduction policies using high resolution and wide range spectra and pointing system

 

・In-orbit, inter-satellite, vicarious calibrations for GOSAT and GOSAT-2

・Fast atmospheric component retrieval from hyper imaging spectra data

・Partial column density retrieval for lower troposphere using solar reflected light and thermal emission spectra.

・Sampling pattern optimization for local flux estimation from various source sectors

・Wind speed estimation using short-lived species

・Demonstration of estimating local flux estimation from various source sectors by airborne experiments

・Joint calibration and validation campaign with international collaborators

 

Required Abilities

Required to have multiple experiences in the items below；

・Molecular spectroscopy　　

・Remote sensing　

・Hyperspectral imaging and sounding　

・Radiative transfer calculation　　　　　

・Retrieval of geophysical parameters　　

・Statistical analysis

・Field measurements　　　　

・Participation in international joint measurement campaign

Working Environment

・Advisors : EORC researchers who has been involved in lab-experiment, design, pre-launch test, in-orbit calibration, data processing and analyses of GOSAT and GOSAT-2 for 15 years.

・International collaboration with space agencies and universities

・GOSAT spectrometer laboratory for next generation airborne and spaceborne instruments

・Portable spectrometers, radio sonde for field experiments
