Research and development of information systems to facilitate space science research using observational data

 

【Details of research theme】
Research and development of advanced information systems to maximize the use of public data stored in DARTS (http://darts.isas.jaxa.jp) and to promote scientific research.
This activity may include research on the creation of new higher-level data, data retrieval methods, efficient data analysis methods, and data visualization; new data products and services will be released from DARTS in collaboration with C-SODA staff.

Required abilities, qualities, and experience

(1) Experience in informatics research and development to promote space science using data.
(2) Have knowledge and insight to determine which information systems are necessary and useful to promote space science research.
(3) The applicant should have the ability to develop information systems that are necessary and useful for space science research using advanced information technology.

Research environment after arriving at one’s post.

The Center has a research environment and computational resources that allow easy access to space science archival data in various research fields, including astronomy, solar physics, solar-terrestrial science, and lunar and planetary science, as well as experts in databases, networking, and computational science. The project researcher can take advantage of this environment for data analysis and development.

Employment

3 years

 

・Contract of employment will be concluded each fiscal year.
・Applicants will not be hired as a permanent employee after the term of service.
・Employment period may be extended up to 3 years for the longest, in consideration of research evaluation every fiscal year.

Selection Schedule

* On the day of the event, you will be given a 10-minute presentation on your research plan and future career vision.
