Study on atmospheric-entry, decent and landing technology and development of sample return capsule

Details of research theme

【Individual Research】

The candidate will select some research themes related to atmospheric-entry, descent, and landing technology. The research topics are various from conventional rigid sample return capsules (SRC) to innovative aerodynamic-entry systems. The examples are listed as follows; heat shield, aerodynamic heating prediction, aerodynamic instability phenomena, parachute and parafoil technology, and inflatable atmospheric-entry system.

【JAXA Project】

The candidates are required to contribute to some projects which need the atmospheric entry system, for example, Mars Moons Exploration(MMX), future planetary probe missions, the development of SRC for deep space exploration, and the recovery module for sounding rocket experiments.
